My restaurant has had one of these for at least 5 years, and it has kept our kitchen knives very sharp the whole time. It is extremely easy to use.

I have inherited this so called "sharpener", and have not felt sorrier about life ever since. This so called "sharpener" broke all my pencils!!!

I've never owned a knife sharpener before so I can't compare, but this little gadget is so easy to use and store and there are no moving parts or electrical circuits to worry about. I don't think I would ever buy any other knife sharpener. I had a drawer full of hand-me-down knives I'd been accumulating since college and now most of them are SO sharp. Makes a huge difference for food prep. I say "most" of them are sharp now because some of the knives were just really cheap and they probably weren't that sharp to begin with anyway. For the price, how can you not buy this knife sharpener??!!

Works beautifully and so much easier than the sharpening stone that I have! You may see some reviews claiming that their knife dulls in just a few days afterwards - that's the sign of an inferior knife and has nothing to do with the sharpener. If you have a decent knife and you hone it on a knife steel every day to keep it aligned, just sharpen with this guy twice a year (or as needed), and you will be good to go.

I wanted this as soon as I read the reviews, my husband bought it for me without telling and I was so happy when it showed up in the mail! I love my expensive electric sharpener, but it's huge and a pain to get out since I don't keep it on the counter top. This sharpener is so small I can fit it in my utensils organizer, and it works extremely well. If you're in doubt because of the price, seriously just buy it. I thought it wouldn't work well because it was so cheap, but apparently it makes no difference. I love it, use it after every cleaning and just use the fancy sharpener once a week or so.
