very good for the money July 6, 2010 T. Briggs (Middle Tennessee) Works fine. adjustible vibration feature is nice - keeps you from overworking unit when not necessary.
Have done small surface sanding mostly to date. Tested small cutting saw blade and it word well on some 1/4 inch plywood.
if you want to use this in eveyday application - buy more expenve Fine or Rockwell units. This is for ocassionl user. Manual says send unit in after 60 hours to have motor checked and brushes replaced.

Thisw particular unit arrived and looked brand new but for the reconditioned sticker on it. I have a fair array of power tools and had little problems with them except with batteries that occasionally don't last as long as they probably should. However, the first time I used the Dremel multi tool, it was to remove some old vinyl tile from a small area in one room. Following, Dremel directions I used it as they described in their instructions one evening for about twenty minutes and they next day for about a half hour, trying to make sure I didn't force it to work harder under load than it should. It apparently overheated and quit working altogether. I would think the manufacturer would design the product so that if it began to overheat it would shut down until you let it cool a sufficient period of time until it would reset itself or you push a reset button rather than overheat and apparently 'burn out the motor'. Many electrical tool motors have this feature on a variety of electric shop tools. This is a short coming of this particular manufacter and this tool. They should correct it.
Reconditioned??? Did not even turn on ! July 1, 2010 Mr. Ed Sutton 2 out of 3 found this review helpful
Terrible quality control. The first time I flipped the switched - silence. Flipped the speed settings; power-on, nothing. Tried a different speed, tapped it gently, nothing. Messed around, got it to run one second. Messed around some more, ran 2 seconds. How can you call this "reconditioned" ??
I have had good luck with other reconditioned tools of other manufacturers. I will never buy another tool with the word Dremel on it. I want to give it zero stars but had to give it one.
Replaced this "example of Dremel quality" with a new $35 Genesis GMT15A Multifunction Oscillating Tool from Amazon. It runs and cuts smooth, comes with 3 blades, a sanding pad, and a stack of sand papers. It even turns on !

Dremel good riddance!

Dremel multi-max June 21, 2010 Douglas M. Cole (Plantation, FL, US) My order came on time very well packaged & except for a sticker that sez " RECONDITIONED by DREMEL " it looks like new. It works as good as it looks. THANKS! for a great addition to my tool box...
