| Customer Reviews: Sometimes you need the strength of duct tape without the "bad repair" look August 3, 2010 Kili (Washington, DC) I'm a big fan of duct tape. Duct tape can do just about anything... really, there was even something in the news a couple of years ago about putting duct tape on warts and having them go away. My brother and I had a car when we were in highschool that was in large part held together with duct tape for a couple of years... it worked and that car went back and forth across New York State from Niagara Falls to the Adirondacks more than once. But for everything good there is that "flip side" -- with duct tape it's that "backwoods redneck" image..... and sometimes you need the strength of duct tape, but don't want that look. This works well for that. I'm sure the other colors, in their appropriate context do the same.
Would I buy this again? Yes. Does it stick as well as the familiar silver stuff?... no, and it seems a bit thinner, but it worked for the purpose at hand. I probably would not use it for actual duct work since it doesn't seem as strong as the traditional silver stuff (it also doesn't have the obvious texture of the stronger strands) and it's not quite as sticky... but for anything that requires almost that, but not quite, it's a good product.
Bottom line: I wouldn't try to use this to hold a hose in a car together (which I've done with the silver stuff), but it works for a lot of other things quite nicely.
not as good as the real gray duct tape January 31, 2010 moose (california) 1 out of 1 found this review helpful
this tape does not stick nearly as well as the gray duct tape that i'm used to, even if the gray duct tape might have left residue behind.

i needed this white tape right away so i ordered it online
a few days later i happened to be at walmart for something else and i found the same thing for a quarter the price i paid
tape was fine, but if i'd known that i could get it cheaper locally i would have
This is good quality stuff May 21, 2009 Michael A. Duvernois (Minneapolis, MN United States) Compare prices locally, and for me at least, it was cheaper online here with free shipping.
This tape can actually be used on ductwork. We've used it to cover old, decaying tape on hot and cold air ducts in our hundred year old house. On newer items it works almost like gaffer's tape in leaving little residue behind when it needed to be removed.
Not Your Average Duct Tape September 24, 2007 Krystal Karrington (Seattle, WA USA) 2 out of 3 found this review helpful
I use this tape because, I need something to hold substance and not leave a sticky residue behind.
Easy to remove with no cleanup. Won't mar expensive of sensitive surfaces.
