I'm working on a cabin that was built in 1939.
Sometime around 1960, linoleum was put down, using a tar-like adhesive.
I've been trying to scape that goop up using a 2-inch and a 3-inch scraper,
a process that was time-consuming and not terribly effective.
I had recently purchased the RK5107K SoniCrafter for my friend, and he
suggested I try the scraper blade attachment.
In relatively little time I had that adhesive completely removed.
Oh, yes, the blade got gooped up, but I just scraped the goop off with a knife.
So, I give the RW9113 Sonicrafter Scraper Blade THUMBS UP!

I first tried the scraper on the glue spots on a concrete floor where w/w carpet had been laid, before putting down hardwood. On the really old and dried glue from earlier carpeting, it was great. For the spots where pieces of the rubber padding had adhered, it was OK, lifting off most of the remaining pad, but for the more recent glue spots alone it heated up the glue and made it even stickier. Then I used it to take off caulking where the baseboard was installed and it was terrific - when I tried to take the same stuff off with a chisel, it was very tough. The Sonicrafter made this chore a breeze! It also worked great on removing mirror mastic on a wall. I do agree with the other reviewer about it being aggressive - it will cut into wood or sheetrock quickly if you're not careful.

I bought this blade to scrape paint off wood, but it's so aggressive that it often dug into and gouged the wood. The only other project I've used it on was removing old calk from around a vinyl storm window. For that operation, it worked great. Much faster than using a utility knife.
